Have you ever felt like it's hard to feel safe or loved, even when everything seems fine on the outside?
Today I want to talk about a topic that comes up often in my sessions: father wounds and how they can affect both the heart and root chakras. These two energy centers are deeply connected to our sense of love and safety.
Many of us, especially men but also women, struggle to express emotions. This often comes from early childhood experiences where love wasn't communicated through words or nurturing gestures. If we grew up with caregivers who didn’t express affection openly, especially fathers who were raised to survive and provide rather than nurture, we may have learned that love means duty instead of emotional connection.
But as human beings, we need more than provision. We need to feel loved through kind words, gentle touch, and safe presence. When we don’t receive that, our heart chakra begins to close off. We may find it hard to give or receive love. At the same time, our root chakra, which gives us our sense of safety and stability, can also become blocked. We may walk through life feeling ungrounded, unprotected, and unsure of who or what we can trust.
This imbalance can show up in subtle ways or as more obvious patterns like shutting down in relationships, avoiding vulnerability, or feeling anxious and insecure without fully understanding why.
Recognizing this is the beginning of healing. You are not alone, and your inner self is worthy of both love and safety.
With love,
Christine
